What is exempted from the Hong Kong Buildings Ordinance?

So there are certain buildings and lands that do not need to follow the rules and regulations of the Hong Kong Buildings Ordinance. These include:

  1. Buildings owned by the government

  2. Buildings on land controlled by the Housing Authority

  3. Buildings on land owned by the Hong Kong Garrison

  4. Land owned by the housing authority

  5. Land owned by the Hong Kong Garrison

  6. Unleased land not required to be maintained under a government lease

  7. Streets or access roads owned and maintained by the government

So yes, the government has preferential treatment :D
